Rose Community Foundation was looking for a unique donor recognition piece to honor donors who had identified the Foundation in their wills. We wanted something that would be meaningful to our generous donors and would differentiate us from other nonprofits. The minute I saw what Lynn and Leah created, I knew this was exactly what we wanted – symbolic representations of our donors’ values artistically woven into a complex tapestry. Each symbol is a story and each story is specific to the donor."

As a team, Lynn Bregman-Blass and Leah Sobsey have an uncanny way of mining the personal history of an individual, family, or community, and then they present that rich heritage in a visually compelling manner that speaks to everyone. The Our Histories: In Focus project they created for the Chapel Hill community involved some 500 people contributing to the artwork’s content. That’s real community art."

We knew we wanted to capture the greater community’s attention in celebration of Habitat for Humanity of Durham’s 25 years of building homes, hope and community. Lynn and Leah sensitively gathered stories and images in living rooms, community centers, neighborhoods and build sites that helped the Habitat family discover and share what home and their part in Habitat’s 25 years means to them. Working with homeowners, volunteers, staff, donors, and community members, Leah and Lynn created Images of Home and Hope, a deeply moving public art installation derived from this experience."

As our family grows, I am plotting additional pieces for our home that we can cherish forever. Our piece is a true gift and is as timeless as it is priceless."
