It doesn’t matter who we are or where we are from we are all humans and have stories to tell."

Jeffrey J. York
Public & Cultural Arts Administrator, Town of Chapel Hill, NC

In 2009 the artists were commissioned by the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission to create a public artwork to weave the lives and histories of the citizens of Chapel Hill and Carrboro together. In collaboration with the UNC Chapel Hill programs in Humanities and Human Values and Southern Oral History they conducted workshops where community members brought in images, memorabilia, and ephemera that were scanned for inclusion in the installation. Participants also had the opportunity to relate their stories and contributions on camera.
