I saw this sculpture and thought the impact of visually experiencing generations of lives strung out like chains of time was a feeling I've never had."

The 25th anniversary celebration of Habitat for Humanity Durham is centered on the Habitat community. The art features the collected stories, images and memories from the homeowners, volunteers, donors and staff. True to Habitatís belief in environmental justice the strips were hung using doors and window frames from a nearby deconstruction site.

"We knew we wanted to capture the greater communityís attention in celebration of Habitat for Humanity of Durhamís 25 years of building homes, hope and community. Lynn and Leah sensitively gathered stories and images in living rooms, community centers, neighborhoods and build sites that helped the Habitat family discover and share what home and their part in Habitatís 25 years means to them. Working with homeowners, volunteers, staff, donors, and community members, Leah and Lynn created Images of Home and Hope, a deeply moving public art installation derived from this experience."
