VHC works with individuals, families, communities and organizations to create custom art through stories and artifacts — memories and mementos. The end result is an installation of translucent panels, a book, or custom art designed as a new form of 21st century tapestry that showcases the collected narrative.
This is a participatory and inclusive process that invites contributors to build history together. Each contribution can tell its own story or be woven into other stories.
The finished pieces illustrate history and are commissioned to commemorate a milestone, project, occasion or to create a unique and distinctive way to acknowledge donors for a special campaign.
Art has power. It can build community and keep history alive. VHC's art weaves cultures and communities together; it reflects history and illustrates a story. It honors, acknowledges, challenges, and communicates.
